YUM!

Portrait Series #2 : ONCE

ONCE is one of not so many movies that I went to the theater to see since I came to New York. It also is one of only a couple of movies that I bought a sound track CD. I left the theater and went right into the record shop that is now closed.
I should have probably drawn the scene of them singing together, but I just loved that scene when they biked together with beautiful Ireland scenery passing by.

#2 of Color Collaboration Project with Jungyeon Roh.

Top: Blue Drink, by me, Below: Blue Coke, by Jungyeon Roh

The right-hand side watercolor palette originally belonged to my sister more than 20 years ago and it was handed down to me. I’ve been using it ever since and only three more colors had been added.
One of my friends was moving recently and gave her watercolor palette -the left-hand side one- to me. Now I got two!! Good for me since I’m using watercolors more and more.
My old watercolor palette reminds me of my teacher from undergrad telling us that watercolor never goes bad and we can hand it down to our grandkids. Not sure if they will ever go to my grandkids, but surely I will use these for my entire life and I will always think of whom they belonged to before they came to me.

Portrait Series #1. AKMU
Exploring further on animals as people. Illustration inspired by photos of AKMU - brother-and-sister duo from Korea. So breathtakingly talented, almost hard to believe these young kids could be this amazing. Kind of indescribable how much their songs make me happy.

drawdogsandcats:

These guys are just so adorable, I had to draw them in a pack, and twice. :D

I made this new blog only for drawing dogs and cats of different kinds (hopefully everyday). I am planning to run this blog completely separately, maybe just with an occasional reblogging, so follow this blog if you are interested. :D

Thanks! <3

Someone from next block building threw out bunch of stuff on the street. Old stuff like maybe 386 PC, old fan, fax machine, cassette player, and old fashioned luggage etc. The luggage looked pretty sturdy and actually very classically beautiful, but I guess no one uses that old fashioned big luggage any more. We now conveniently drag everything around. The person wrote “New York U.S.A” with probably white out on the luggage. I’m guessing the person used the luggage when s/he moved to New York long time ago from far away.

Always wanted to draw animals in clothes and somehow never did…until now! I had so much fun doing this.

side note: A kitten is wearing my all time favorite dress of my childhood - white dress with pink dots. I aleays saved it for very special occasions only. ;D
